BIRTH CERTIFICATE

REASONS FOR THE NEED FOR THE DOCUMENT

A birth certificate is the main document that confirms the fact of a person's birth, identity and citizenship. If necessary, we will provide a notarized translation, apostille or ministerial legalization of documents to ensure that they meet the requirements of the law.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

If you need to register your child's birth for the first time, we will help you fill out all the necessary applications and submit documents to the state authority. If you need to obtain a duplicate birth certificate, we will request the document as soon as possible without your presence.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

In case of initial registration of a child's birth:

  1. Original passports of the child's mother and father;
  2. Parental marriage certificate (if available) 
  3. If one of the parents is a foreigner, a passport of a foreign citizen and proof of legal stay in Ukraine;
  4. A medical certificate of birth or a medical birth certificate.

In case of requesting a second birth certificate:

  1. A copy of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
  2. A copy of the birth certificate (if available)/the client's birth data (name of the father and mother, place and time of the Actual Record).

TERM

MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE

TERM

If the bride and groom are citizens of Ukraine, we can register the marriage within one business day; if one of the bride and groom or both are foreigners, we register the marriage within three business days. If you need to obtain a duplicate marriage certificate, we can provide it within three, five or seven business days.

CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE

A divorce certificate is an official document that confirms the fact of the termination of a marriage between spouses. If the divorce certificate has been damaged or lost, we will be able to re-request the document as soon as possible.

CERTIFICATE OF DIVORCE FOR A FOREIGNER

To enter into a new marriage in Ukraine or another country, a divorce certificate is a mandatory document confirming that the previous marriage has been officially terminated. A death certificate is an official document that confirms the fact of a person's death. Without this document, it is impossible to start organizing a funeral, inheritance procedure, termination of credit obligations, and cancellation of all documents of the deceased person.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

If you need to carry out the initial registration of a death, we will fill out all the necessary applications and submit the documents to the state authority for registration without your presence.

If the death certificate has been damaged or lost, we will be able to obtain it again as soon as possible.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

For the initial registration of death, you need:

  1. The passport of the deceased citizen of Ukraine or other document identifying his/her identity;
  2. A medical certificate of death.

To request a repeat (duplicate) death certificate, you need to:

  1. A copy of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine of a person who is a close relative of the deceased;
  2. A copy of the death certificate that must be re-obtained (if available).

TERM

CERTIFICATE OF CHANGE OF NAME, SURNAME AND PATRONYMIC

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

  11. Certificate of no criminal record.

In case of requesting a second certificate of change of name:

  1. A copy of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine/foreign national;
  2. A copy of the name change certificate (if any).

TERM

    What documents are issued by the registry office?

    The list of documents issued by the Civil Registry Office is quite extensive, and to begin with, they can be divided into 2 types:
    -Excerpts;
    -Certificates;
    The certificates include the following:
    -Birth certificate;
    -Marriage certificate;
    -A divorce certificate;
    -A death certificate;
    -Certificate of change of name (surname or patronymic).

    An extract can be obtained separately for each certificate from this list, which is a more extensive version of the certificate, indicating where, when and by whom the event on the basis of which the certificate was issued was registered, and it is also possible to track the entire history of changes made to the act record. 

    The excerpts, in turn, can be divided into the following:

    • Full;
    • It's not complete.

    A full extract contains all the information that was entered by the registry office during the registration and issuance of the certificate, while an incomplete extract contains more brief information, only the basic data on the fact of registration

    Who is entitled to receive a certificate or extract from the registry office?

    A duplicate of the certificate or an extract from it may be obtained by the person in respect of whom the record was made and to whom the certificate belongs. A duplicate certificate may also be obtained by relatives of the first degree of kinship or other relatives, provided that all supporting documents regarding kinship are available, and by a representative by power of attorney from the document owner or his/her relatives. 

    If a certificate or extract is required for a person who is abroad and is unable to issue a power of attorney, we would like to note that we can obtain the above documents through lawyer's requests, in which case a power of attorney is not required

    Legal practice nuances to keep in mind when obtaining duplicate certificates:

    The first thing we would like to emphasize is that if you need to Legalize or Apostille a certificate, in this case it must be issued on the sample form no later than 2016 or later. If your documents were issued on the forms of the Soviet Union, you should definitely get their duplicates, as old forms of documents are not subject to Legalization and Apostillation. 

    The next thing we would also like to emphasize is that upon receipt of a duplicate of the Certificate, it is marked Re-issued, this document has the same force as the original certificate, and in fact, after its issuance, it is the original document. 

    When it comes to obtaining a duplicate marriage certificate, only one of the spouses can obtain a duplicate certificate or a full extract, while children can only obtain an incomplete extract of their parents' marriage. Also, if the marriage has been dissolved, only a divorce certificate or an extract from the marriage certificate can be obtained.
